Jacqueline (Jackie) Cody Downing provides executive and career coaching, leadership and team development, and human resources counsel. As president of Spiritgems Consulting, Jackie draws from more than 23 years of human resources experience in national and global leadership roles with varied organizations - including companies of Fortune 100 and Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For stature.

Using skills and insights gleaned throughout her career, and an understanding of and appreciation for diversity, Jackie coaches her clients with a holistic approach. She helps her clients to clarify their values, strengths, talents and interests to better align with their business and personal objectives. Whether an individual, leader or team, she ultimately guides them to increased effectiveness and performance excellence. Her clients include The Rockefeller Foundation, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and Shire Pharmaceuticals. She also provides training and board development to non-profit organizations and facilitates self improvement workshops for women. She is an adjunct professor at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.

Jackie has worked on cross-functional, global, multi-cultural teams; led HR professionals in creating process improvements for improved global working practices; counseled senior leaders in managing major organizational changes including mergers, restructuring, expansions and downsizing; supported new teams in their start-up phase to facilitate team effectiveness; and led major organization change management and communications processes.

Trained as a coach at The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), Jackie continues her learning and development through memberships in the International Coach Federation (ICF), the Philadelphia Area Coaches Alliance (PACA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She received her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis, her juris doctor from Northeastern University School of Law, and has held leadership positions with: Citigroup, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland and its subsidiary Green Spring Mental Health Services, the Maryland Science Center, and State Farm Insurance.

A native of Baltimore, MD, Jackie now resides in West Chester, PA where she serves on the board of Wings for Success.
