 
John C. Ford is principal of John C. Ford Associates, a firm that specializes in organizational development and communications. His consulting practice also includes seminar development, delivery and executive coaching. John writes and speaks extensively on these topics. John began his career in financial services with positions at the American Stock Exchange and Merrill Lynch and Company. He then transferred his focus to broadcasting and cable where he held senior human capital responsibilities at CBS, Inc, establishing its School of Management, followed by ABC and Home Box Office (Time Warner), where he was its VP, Human Resources.
John has partnered with large development organizations, such as The Mind Gym, The Forum Corporation, Management Team Consultants, The Oliver Wyman Group, 7City Learning and Institute for Global Ethics where he delivers a wide array of programs in sales, management, and leadership subjects. His clients have included BONY-Mellon. KPMG, General Motors, Merck, Glaxo-Smith Kline, Google, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and United Technologies.
John's work in recruiting and interviewing techniques has taken him all over the world with assignments for leading companies like Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co, Investcorp, Lifetime Television, Textron, UBS, VMware, Liquidnet, NPR, and executive search firms including Russell Reynolds Associates, Korn Ferry International and Boyden Associates, along with the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC).
John's executive coaching practice is extensive and he works with a number of senior leaders in Fortune 200 companies around issues of strategy, people and team development and interpersonal communication. Among his clients have been executives from Moody's Corporation, Bank of Nova Scotia, Omnicom Group, Meredith Corporation, Lehman Brothers - now Barclay's Capital, the Washington Post Companies, Deutsche, Fidelity Investments and Deloitte & Touche LLP.
John has received numerous awards from organizations like the ASTD (American Society for Training and Development), Sales and Marketing Management Magazine, the National Commun-ication Association and PRSA (Public Relations Society of America). He sits on a number of committees in academe and the arts; has chaired the Board of Trustees for Neumann University in Philadelphia; is an Overseer Emeritus of Emerson College in Boston; and has served as a member of the Chancellor's Advisory Council for the University System of Maryland. John is currently a member of the Leadership Council for the Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts, College Park, Md. and is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
John earned his BA in communications from the University of Maryland at College Park; has pursued graduate work at New York University; and has also studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Virginia. He resides in New York City and in Berkshire County, MA. with his wife, Sandra, who is a Full Professor at the City University of New York and is a partner in his practice.
